Why Goat Milk Soap?
The most common question I am asked is "Why Goat Milk Soap?" The answer is easier than you think. The soap you find in supermarkets and chain stores is not actually soap-it's detergent. Most brand name soaps contain harsh chemicals that can irritate the skin, alcohol that will dry the skin, and petroleum products that sit on the surface of the skin. Handmade soap is made from natural, gentle ingredients that don’t leave the skin itchy, dry or irritated.
So all handmade soaps have advantages over commercial soaps. But goat milk soaps offer even more. Milk has been used for skin and beauty treatments since Cleopatra and her famous milk baths. All milk contains natural emollients, vitamins and triglycerides that moisturize the skin. Goat milk has a smaller molecular structure, allowing it to be more easily absorbed into the skin. People who prefer goat milk soap claim that it is far less drying and harsh than ordinary soap. For those who have sensitive skin or eczema, goat milk soap is a godsend.
The best goat milk soaps are made from fresh (not powdered) goat milk.

This is how we package most of our goat milk soap. These large bars come in a unique clam-shell type plastic container. This makes it easy to carry on trips, and keeps it fresh. We suggest that you let the bar dry between uses. A bar of soap lasts a long time.
We make soaps scented with essential oils or fragrance oils. Scents include Gardner's (with apriot kernal meal for a wonderful cleaning action, without drying the skin), Lavender with lavender buds, Rosemary with Rosemary spice, Vanilla Lace, Cranberry, Sweet Pea, Pumpkin Spice, Apple Cinnamon, Citrus Splash, Apples and Peaches, Honey Almond, Oats and Honey (a fantastic complexion bar!), and so much more. We also feature seasonal scents. Watch for featured scents, or email with a favorite request. We will be glad to custom make your soap, but remember that it takes several weeks for soap to cure, so orders will take approximately four weeks to complete. Please let us know if you need soaps with only essential oils.

Some people like lots of variety, and others just want to try out a soap without buying a large bar. We also package "half bars" of the same wonderful soap in the same scents as the full bars. They come to you wrapped in plastic, in a small muslin bag.
